Terms of service

PRODUCT WARRANTY

  • Should any original component prove defective in terms of workmanship within its warranty period, we will repair or replace it. The warranty period for all Fatboy, Dirodi, Super 73 and Rever Bikes is as follows:
  • This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damages caused by improper assembly or faults resulting from an accident or improper or insufficient maintenance, or installation of parts or accessories. The warranty does not apply to damage or failure due to an accident, misuse, abuse, or negligence. Modification of the frame or components shall void this warranty. The warranty only covers part replacement and labour and does not cover transportation charges.
  • Parts that commonly experience wear and tear include but are not limited to brakes pads, brake oil, brake rotors, tyres, fork seals, brake oil, hand grips, chain, and the seat.
  • Warranty will be void if the bicycle is used for other than normal activities, including but not limited to failing to follow the owner’s manual or using the bike for commercial activities.
  • Tyre puncture is not covered under warranty.
  • The Warrantor may seek from you reimbursement of any costs and expenses incurred by it if the product is found not to be defective due to faulty materials or workmanship.
  • The company shall in no event be responsible for consequential, special and cause and effect damages.
  • This warranty is just limited to repairing or replacing the defective part(s) free of charge. This warranty does not cover or include transportation charges. Delivery of the defective product or parts for repair or replacement to and from our service centre and third-party service charges (e.g. charges for installing the replacement part in a third-party bike store) is on the customer’s account.
  • A bicycle is a vehicle in real working conditions. It is always exposed to unwanted impacts, shocks, vibrations, heat and cold, accidents, water penetration, salt splash etc. which may cause damage, which will not be considered a manufacturing fault and thus is not covered under warranty.
  • Your electric bike and all its components are water resistant against normal damp or wet conditions. Please note your bike is water resistant and not waterproof. The bike can be ridden under mild or moderate rain but should not be submerged in water or be ridden under rain showers (heavy rains). Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential to keep your bike performing at its best. Use fresh water and mild soap to clean, dry it thoroughly, and lubricate moving parts regularly. Store the bike in a dry, covered space. Please note: rust and corrosion are not covered under warranty, as they result from improper care or storage.
  • As part of the assembly process, some parts adjustment including but not limited to brakes and derailleur adjustment might be required due to potential part movements during shipment. Instructions on how to make such adjustments will be on our website. Failure to properly assemble the bike or adjust the parts is not covered under warranty. In such cases, if you decide to ask a third-party technician (e.g. a bike shop) to make the assembly or do the parts adjustment for you, fees incurred will not be covered under our warranty.
  • In rare cases, due to part movements during shipment, scratches may appear on the bike paint job. In such cases, we will send you a small sample of your bike’s colour so that you can touch up and hide the scratch. Please note part or bike replacement requests only due to scratches on a part or frame cannot be accepted.
  • In case a warranty extension is offered for any of our products, you can pay the fees and get covered for the extension through the same terms and conditions. You may apply for the extension up to 1 day before the regular warranty period expires.
  • Our warranty terms & conditions apply to all customers purchasing our products direct or through dealers, 3rd party or second hand.
  • The benefits given to you in this Product Warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the products to which this Product Warranty relates. The Warrantor’s products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Agreement to Workshop Policies

All customers are expected to read and understand our Workshop Policies before dropping off a bike or approving a service estimate.
By proceeding with a service, you confirm that you are aware of and agree to the terms outlined in this document, including details related to service timelines, assessments, warranties, and responsibilities.
This helps ensure transparency, avoid misunderstandings, and protect both the customer and Manly Bikes.2. Bookings vs. Walk-ins

- Customers with bookings will have priority over walk-in services. We highly recommend booking your service in advance to avoid long waits, especially during peak periods. All e-bike warranty claims must be booked via our website before bringing the bike in.
When you walk into our shop, we cannot guarantee that we will have enough space to store your bike until it is your turn in the queue.

- No Pick-up or Drop-off Service

Our workshop does not offer bike pick-up or drop-off services for repairs.
All bikes must be brought to and collected from the workshop by the customer or an authorised person.

- Drop-off Time

Bikes dropped off before 10:30 AM will have a higher chance of being completed the same day, provided all required parts are in stock.
Bikes dropped off after 10:30 AM are likely to be completed the following day.

You can always drop your bikes off the previous day to your booking. However gives a call to confirm please.

- Assessment Fee

All bikes are subject to an assessment fee based on the type of service required:
If the estimate is approved, the fee will be deducted from the final service price.
If the estimate is not approved, the fee will be retained for the time spent on inspection and quoting.

- Estimate Process

Each bike is assessed before any service begins. A detailed estimate will be sent via SMS, including:
All parts needed (based on safety and manufacturer standards)
Labour costs
Total price
Customers may contact us to discuss changes or request the removal of specific items from the estimate.

- Estimate Approval

Services will only begin after estimate approval is received via email, whatsapp, SMS or phone call.
If the estimate is not approved, the assessment fee will be retained for time invested in inspection and communication.

- Responsibility for Estimates Approval

The person who receives and approves the service estimate is responsible for that approval, regardless of age.
If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, we strongly recommend bringing the bike in person and providing your contact details so you can be involved in the approval and service process.
This policy helps us comply with legal requirements and ensures clear communication for all parties.
If the bike is dropped off by a minor for repair or any reason in our shop, all communication, approvals, and requests shall be handled exclusively by the minor’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

- Partial Approvals and Safety Risks

Customers may request to remove specific items from the estimate or choose to proceed with only part of the recommended service.
While we respect the customer’s decision, it’s important to understand that doing so may:
Compromise the safety of the bike and rider
Cause premature wear or damage to related components
Result in reduced performance or reliability
Our estimates are prepared following manufacturer guidelines and safety standards. Any service declined by the customer is at their own risk, and we cannot be held responsible for issues resulting from incomplete servicing.

- Hourly Service Charges

Some services, particularly complex or highly specific ones, may be charged by time.
Hourly rates will vary between mechanical and electrical services.

- Unexpected Issues During Service

Manly Bikes provides repair estimates based on a visual inspection, and such estimates are subject to change. In the event that additional work or parts are required, Manly Bikes shall not be liable for any extra costs incurred, as customers are made aware in advance that such circumstances may arise. Any such changes shall not render the service incomplete. It is the customer’s responsibility to determine whether to proceed with the additional work or to stop the repair at its current stage. No refunds will be issued for labour already performed or for parts already supplied or installed.

- Service Timeline

Service begins as soon as possible after estimate approval.
Completion time depends on parts availability and service complexity. While we aim for same-day service, external factors may affect the timeline.

- Service Completion

Once your bike is ready, we’ll notify you by SMS or phone call for collection.

- Bike Collection

Only the person who dropped off the bike is authorised to collect it.
If someone else is collecting it, their name and contact details must be provided in advance.
The owner of the bike accepts full responsibility for any risks, losses, or liabilities arising from the bike being locked outside the shop or collected by any third party.

- Pick-up Due Date

Bikes must be collected within 7 days of completion.
Uncollected bikes will incur a $20 daily storage fee starting on the job completion day.

- Abandoned Bikes

If we receive no response from the customer for 30 days after service completion or an estimate is sent, the bike will be considered abandoned.
It will be moved to a storage warehouse and will require a $750 logistics/release fee and prior booking to retrieve.

- Electrical Services

Electrical services incur a minimum labour charge, which must be paid upfront when dropping off the bike (see our website for current pricing).
All labour is charged based on the actual time spent working on the bike, plus the cost of any replacement parts.
Battery keys must be provided for all electrical services. If keys are unavailable, we can supply replacements as part of the repair for an additional fee.
We do not provide fixed estimates for electrical troubleshooting, as it is performed on a trial-and-error basis.
By choosing this service, you agree to the following:
- Labour will be charged for the time worked, and parts will be charged separately.
- There is a possibility that the bike may be deemed a total loss after inspection.
- If the bike is deemed a total loss, no assessment fee or labour charges will be refunded.

- Warranty Process and Conditions

For any warranty claim, the battery keys and charger (if applicable) must be brought with the bike, as they may be required to remove or diagnose components.
Once inspected, we will lodge a claim with our supplier and carry out troubleshooting based on their recommendations to find the best remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Once we receive confirmation from our dealer, we will proceed accordingly — whether that involves replacing the bike, replacing parts, or denying the warranty if the issue was caused by misuse or improper storage.

- Priority for Bikes Purchased In-Store

During high-demand periods (e.g. summer), we may prioritise servicing bikes purchased from our store.
The workshop reserves the right to refuse services for bikes not sold by us during these periods.

- Free First Tune-Up – Non-Transferable

Bikes purchased from our shop include a free first service, which must be used by the original owner.
This tune-up is recommended when the bike reaches 500 km on the odometer.
It is non-transferable and cannot be claimed by any subsequent owners.
